Twelve Angry Men

We saw the play "Twelve Angry Men" yesterday at Pioneer Theater. It was very well done. The story takes place in a jury room in 1957 where twelve men have to decide the fate of a young man accused of killing his father.

I was thinking after the play how much the world has changed since 1957 (I was 12 years old then). All the jury members in 1957 were white and all were men. It is nice to think that we have progressed and opened ourselves to a balanced jury now. We still have a long way to go for equality, but I do believe that our grandchildren are less prejuiced than our parents were. And that's a pleasant thought!

I agree. I think my children will grow up in a world that doesn't equate different colors of skin or different genders with deserving different levels of treatment. Unlike my Grandmother... she's in her late 80's, and I've heard some awful things come out of her mouth in regards to black people! And she's one of the most kind hearted women ever! Just shows the generation she grew up in...
