Recent Photos from Dad

Dad recently took these photos of his remodeled living room. He had the room painted and bought new furniture and window coverings. It turned out great!

The top photo shows Dad at his weekly organ lesson in Payson last Monday. (Can you imagine looking like this at age 91?) He started learning the organ at age 79, and now at age 91, he still keeps improving. He loves to learn pieces from his WWII days and songs from when he was dating my mother.

What a wonderful example Dad has been to all of the family through the years. We admire him so much and are appreciative of his good health, his sharp mind, and his kind and loving heart. We are so lucky to still have him as part of our lives.

Twelve Angry Men

We saw the play "Twelve Angry Men" yesterday at Pioneer Theater. It was very well done. The story takes place in a jury room in 1957 where twelve men have to decide the fate of a young man accused of killing his father.

I was thinking after the play how much the world has changed since 1957 (I was 12 years old then). All the jury members in 1957 were white and all were men. It is nice to think that we have progressed and opened ourselves to a balanced jury now. We still have a long way to go for equality, but I do believe that our grandchildren are less prejuiced than our parents were. And that's a pleasant thought!

Driggs' Mission Call

Saturday evening was a special event. We drove to Bountiful to see our grandson Driggs open his mission call letter. He was super excited! When he opened it and said the name of his mission location, the first word that popped into my mind was CHEESE. Driggs is going to Wisconsin.
